AI News: Former Scale AI CTO Unveils Game-Changing AI Agent

In a bold move that may redefine how enterprises tap into complex data, a new AI startup named Isotopes AI has burst out of stealth with a remarkable $20 million seed round and a highly promising product: Aidnn, an AI agent designed to bridge the long-standing gap between data infrastructure teams and business leaders. This signals a potential breakthrough in business analytics.

Solving the data access disconnect

“Aidnn” empowers managers to converse with their data using natural language—and yes, it works across disparate sources such as finance tools, ERP systems, CRM platforms, and cloud storage. This AI News report highlights just how uncommon this capability is: business teams traditionally rely on technical experts to translate and prepare data, a cumbersome and slow process.

What sets Aidnn apart is not just its accessibility, but its sophistication. The startup’s founders—led by Arun Murthy, a Hadoop pioneer from Yahoo and co-founder of Hortonworks—are seasoned veterans of the big data space. Their pedigree already shines through: Isotopes has filed for 10 patents, demonstrating serious ambition.

A pedigree forged in data wars

Murthy’s history reads like a retracing of data infrastructure history: from building Hadoop at Yahoo, to launching Hortonworks in 2011 and witnessing its IPO just four years later. He later navigated the turbulence at Cloudera, where he led teams and witnessed the embarrassing reality of data inaccessibility on investor calls: “We were a big data company selling this.”

Murthy’s encounter with Scale AI—where he served as CTO—was transformative. At Scale, he says, he earned a sort of “PhD,” gaining deep insights into model mechanics and improvement. But a nudge from his old Hortonworks colleague Prasanth Jayachandran and fellow co-founder Gopal Vijayaraghavan led him to co-found Isotopes in late 2024, backed by NTTVC’s Vab Goel.

What makes Aidnn extraordinary

Aidnn doesn’t just fetch data—it cleans, normalizes, joins, prorates, aggregates, and even reproduces multi-step analytical workflows like calculating recurring revenue trends. It reveals its logic, flags anomalies, explains assumptions, and offers recommendations—all while preserving enterprise privacy and keeping sensitive data private.

Still, the market is crowded. Big players like Salesforce (via Tableau) are pushing agentic analytics, and startups like WisdomAI bring their own credentials to the table.

The big idea at a glance

Feature                                               Why It Matters

Natural-language access                 Empowers non-tech users

Multisource integration                   Breaks down data silos

Explainable reasoning                      Builds trust in AI decisions

Context memory & privacy              Secure and reliable for enterprises

Aidnn represents a powerful gambit: making big data truly usable for decision-makers without turning them into analysts. It relies on deep enterprise insight, historical credibility, and a user-centric design—ingredients that could set it apart in a crowded AI analytics landscape.

As businesses increasingly crave fast, transparent, and actionable insights, Aidnn’s rise could mark a significant inflection point in how AI tools are applied in real-world operations. The startup’s mix of bold ambition, technical depth, and privacy awareness might give it the edge it needs to go viral in boardrooms worldwide.
